Replace my Power Brick
Standard Power Brick
Power Module V1.0
The most popular use is for the direct replacement of the power brick that came with your Pixhawk 1 or 2.
You may want to do this for a few reasons;
The standard power brick is not accurate enough, giving you false or varying reading resulting in lack of ability to manage your battery usage effectively, this could impact your return to launch happening too soon or too late, or not being confidant in using your batteries to the full extent resulting in reduced flight time.
The standard power brick is not rated high enough for my platform, Mauch products are available for different voltage ranges such as 2-6s and 4-14s as well as for different ratings such as 100A or 200A, when used with a sensor hub and dual battery you can have upto 400A setup.
below details some of the most common setups and the parts needed.
Mauch Current Sensor
Don’t Forget The BEC
Mauch Current Sensors use Hall Sensors to provide superior readings. The Current sensor requires power from a BEC, this also provides power to the Flight Controller. The picture on the right shows a current sensor with a BEC. (HS-100-LV and a 2-6s BEC) You will also see the negative (black wire – not included) does not pass through the board. The result is clean power and accurate measurement.
The most common error people make when ordering Mauch products is forgetting a BEC, or for use with Pixhawk 2, ordering a backup BEC and no normal BEC, below is some common setups detailing the use of Mauch products. If you need any assistance in ordering we are here to help.
