High Quality Power Modules for Pixhawk 2 Now Available from 3DXR.

We now have in stock “Hall Sensor” power modules in 2 current ratings – 100A and 200A and also Low Voltage (2-6S LiPo batteries) and High Voltage (4-14S LiPo batteries)

These power modules have superb build quality and are supplied with an individual factory test result – they have a unique serial number.

An important safety feature is that these power modules only connect into the positive power wire so they avoid having both power wires in close proximity – this is very important considering the current a big LiPo cell can deliver.

There is also a BEC module available built to the same high standard and designed to work with the power modules and both are Pixhawk 2 ready.

The Pixhawk 2 creates a new standard for flight control and it deserves the best possible power source.The Pixhawk 2 also uses a much more robust connector system, the Molex Clik-Mate 2.0 which will improve both the reliability and the maintainability of the flight control and machine it is controlling.

As both motors and batteries become ever more powerful and reliable it is vitally important not to overlook the power system which joins them and which delivers the power from battery to motor. The introduction of these power modules allows a highly efficient and cost effective power train to be created for multi-copters, aircraft and any form of remote controlled machine.

Technical Specifications for the Power Controller

Sensor Board:- The current sensor is a “true hall sensor” up to 100A (HS-100-LV/HV) or 200A (HS-200- LV/HV)

– Continuous current rating:- 200A for all sensors (HS-100 /HS-200)

– Over current rating:- 1200A@25℃ or 900A@85℃ (all sensors)

– Ultra-low noise power supply (LP2985-4.0) for current sensor and offset shifting circuit.
– Microchip MCP601 operational amplifier for offset shifting.
– LiPo voltage measurement with 1% resistor divider in factor 9:1 (LV) and 18:1 (HV)
– Supply voltage to Pixhawk 2/ APM = 5.35V/3A
– Bright LED as power on indicator (blue LED for 200A / green LED for 100A)
–  2x10cm / AWG12 Red cable soldered to current sensor as standard size (Up to AWG8 possible).
– 1 x10cm / 6 pole cable connection to Pixhawk 2 / APM (both sides DF-13 connector)

– 1x 10cm / 6 pole cable to connect to the FC.
– Module Dimensions 22mm x 30mm x 10mm / 7g without cables and shrinking tube.

Technical Specification for the BEC. (2-6S)

Input 2-6S LiPo / maximum 28 Volts
– Output 5.35V / 3A -> +/- 0.05V –> Ripple 10mV (0.2%) at 1.5A output current.
– Input wrong polarity protection, as well as Panasonic FM 220uF/35V input capacitor to prevent burn out of the UBEC from voltage spikes.
– 4 pole cable to sensor board with DF-13 connector.
– 47mm x 18mm x 11mm / 8g with cables and shrinking tube.

Technical Specifications for the BEC (4-14S)

Input 4-14S LiPo / maximum 60 Volts
– Output 5.35V / 3A -> +/- 0.05V –> Ripple 80µV (0.2%) at 1.5A output current.
– Input wrong polarity protection, as well as Panasonic FM 220uF/35V input capacitor to prevent burn out of the UBEC from voltage spikes.
– 4 pole cable (10cm) to sensor board with Click-Mate 2.0 connector.
– 53mm x 21mm x 14mm / 20g with cables and shrinking tube.
